hexec software package provides Command line tool to hook into exec calls, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hexec
hexec is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hexec package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hexec *
You will get with hexec package name, version, architecture and description in a table
